Giro d’Italia 2025 - Prologo and Visma | Lease a Bike Win the Corsa Rosa

Prologo returns to the top step of the Giro d’Italia podium for the second consecutive year, thanks to Simon Yates and Team Visma | Lease a Bike. The Italian company, which became the Dutch squad’s Innovation Technical Partner this season, repeats last year’s success by reclaiming the Maglia Rosa and lifting the Trofeo Senza Fine just 12 months later.

One of the key protagonists in the 2025 Giro d’Italia victory was undoubtedly Simon Yates. The brilliant British climber, in his first season as team leader riding with Prologo, delivered a masterful performance to overturn the general classification during the brutal 20th stage. With a smart and formidable attack on the feared Colle delle Finestre—and with the support of an exceptional domestique like Wout Van Aert—“the scientist” managed to start the final stage with nearly a four-minute lead over the second-place rider.

As with every great sporting achievement, the contribution of teammates and the entire Team Visma | Lease a Bike staff was crucial. In addition to a phenomenal and resurgent Wout Van Aert, key contributors to the triumph included sprinter Olav Kooij—who clinched a spectacular win in the final stage in the heart of Rome—climbers Wilco Kelderman, Steven Kruijswijk, Bart Lemmen, and rouleurs Edoardo Affini and Dylan Van Baarle.

Equally important was the synergy between the team and Prologo, which Visma | Lease a Bike selected this year as its Innovation Technical Partner. The Italian brand, with its high-performance, cutting-edge saddles such as the Scratch NDR used by Simon Yates himself, enabled the British rider and his teammates to perform at their best on every kind of terrain.

In this context, the role of a revolutionary project like the Predator 01TT also deserves mention. This integrated time trial saddle, developed by Prologo in collaboration with the Dutch team, was officially unveiled two weeks ago at the Giro d’Italia on the eve of the critical Lucca–Pisa time trial stage. The saddle was used in the race and helped Yates gain precious seconds over his direct rivals for the Maglia Rosa.

Thanks to Simon Yates and all the riders of Team Visma | Lease a Bike. It was an open and thrilling Giro d’Italia right up to the final stage, showcasing teamwork at every level. The technical and human elements once again made the difference and helped write history. For Prologo, winning a second consecutive Giro is a great source of pride, especially given the extremely high level of competition. Thanks to all the key players, it was a memorable Corsa Rosa, further enriched by the six stage victories achieved by riders on Prologo saddles and by the beautiful Maglia Azzurra won by Italian climber Lorenzo Fortunato of Team XDS Astana".
