PREDATOR 01TRI is the wide version of Prologo's integrated saddle for time trials. The apex of an ambitious and meticulous R&D and design process started 18 months ago that led the Italian company to create an extremely innovative, lightweight, and aerodynamic model. A compact and high-performance saddle weighing only 149 grams that perfectly meets the needs of the most demanding triathletes and time trialists always seeking the maximum expression of speed and power. This product was developed in synergy with the IRONMAN world champion Sam Laidlow.

Technologies

To further improve the aerodynamics of the new saddle, the shape of the PREDATOR 01TRI was designed starting from CFD simulation software and then refined with specific wind tunnel tests that relate the saddle to the bicycle and the athlete himself. The sinuous side wings on the sides of the base hide and shield the rail and seatpost clamp from the air, while the rear part, even more pronounced and sharper compared to the previous version, channels the dirty airflows coming from the cyclist's back parallel to the road, thus reducing the drag coefficient.

The revolutionary carbon rail, a real plate perfectly integrated into the base, features a much wider flat surface compared to traditional round or oval section rails. An innovative and patented solution that guarantees maximum power transfer and improves handling and connection between the seatpost and the cyclist in all phases of pedaling, allowing the athlete to perceive even the smallest sensation transmitted by the frame. 

PREDATOR 01TRI is a modular saddle with sustainability in mind. The integrated plate and base are in fact specially designed to be separated from each other. This way, it is possible to replace, repair, and recycle the various parts of the saddle more easily at the end of the product's life cycle.

Compact dimensions

The ergonomic shape of the saddle, only 110 mm wide, has been studied to facilitate the maximum rotation of the athlete's pelvis, allowing him to assume and maintain a highly aerodynamic position for longer. The seating area of the PREDATOR 01TRI features a surface with increased EVA padding to offer maximum support. The wide PAS central channel, which runs along the entire length of the support area, helps reduce pressure peaks on soft tissues, improving comfort.

The extremely compact dimensions of this V-shape saddle (260x110 mm) are even more astonishing when considering only the padded part, which is in fact only 170 mm long. The nose is as wide as 60 mm to guarantee a larger support surface and therefore better comfort. This wider version is recommended for triathletes who like to take on longer time trials, where they have to stay seated on the saddle for longer.
