Dimension EVA and Scratch EVA
Prologo high performance saddles dedicated to women
Prologo saddles have always been designed to best meet the needs of all cyclists, offering a wide range of unisex models suitable for both men and women.
The constant research for better performing products and the growing attention to the specific demands of women's cycling, both professional and non-professional, led Prologo to create a line of ergonomic saddles entirely dedicated to women.
From the close collaboration with the women's teams and thanks to the feedback from the best road and MTB cyclists, the EVA saddles line was born, designed to meet the specific anatomical needs of all women, from the Word Tour champions who aim for maximum performance, to the sportier cyclists, looking for maximum comfort even for medium and long rides.
Dimension EVA
The new Dimension EVA features the characteristic ‘V shape’ of the Dimension family, an ergonomic shape designed to favor an advanced and aerodynamic riding position, ideal for maximizing thrust on the pedals.
Compared to the unisex Dimension 143 model, the EVA version has been completely redesigned to better fit the female body, while maintaining a compact length of 245mm.
The new women's design features a width of 156mm to increase the support surface for the female pelvis. The anatomical center has been set back by 5 mm to facilitate positioning of the ischial bones in the rear part of the saddle where the new padding, with lower density foams and an increased thickness of 8 mm, offers maximum support to increase comfort and stability.
The central PAS channel is 18% wider, with increased padding at the sides to further distribute and reduce pressure on the female genitals. The 13% wider seat tip is also designed to increase comfort even in the most advanced and aerodynamic pedalling positions.
The graphics of the Dimension EVA are characterized by thin lines that highlight the V shape of the saddle, with blue details that recall the EVA logo, giving a touch of style and recognizability to the entire Prologo women's line.
Scratch EVA
The new Scratch EVA is based on the T-shape of the Scratch M5, a unisex multi-disciplinary saddle that has already distinguished itself at the highest level on the road and off-road.
The anatomical shape of the new Scratch EVA has been redesigned to better suit the female body, with the anatomical center shifted forward by 5mm compared to the unisex model.
This solution has made it possible to increase the support surface for the female pelvis, making the saddle still highly performing, but even more comfortable.
The compact dimensions (245mm x 140mm), in common with the unisex model, allow good freedom of movement for pedalling with maximum efficiency in every position, from the most relaxed to the most aggressive.
The padding is made of EVA foam of varying density according to the different areas of the saddle.
At the rear, where the ischial bones rest, the padding is 5 mm thicker and is made of high-density foam to offer the greatest possible support.
In the middle and front, where the soft tissues rest, the padding is thinner and made of low-density foam to minimize pressure peaks in sensitive areas.
The difference in thickness and density creates a channel in the center of the saddle, 50% deeper than the unisex model, with a large, extremely soft contact surface. A targeted design choice to adapt and optimize the seat to the female anatomy, thus eliminating numbness and possible pain.
Finally, the tip of the saddle has been widened by 2mm and tilted downwards to ensure a good support surface even in those situations where it is necessary to pedal in a more forward position, such as on steep climbs.
Under the central channel, the Scratch EVA features Prologo's characteristic Active Base System: a base with a hole in the center, which further relieves pressure and thus increases comfort when pedalling.
Rail
For the more performance-oriented cyclists who are looking for a rigid saddle and maximum lightness, the EVA models are available in a version with a Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail composed of carbon fibre, Kevlar and aluminium filaments. A rail adopted by Prologo for all top of the range models, which reduces the weight of the Dimension EVA to 183 gr and of the Scratch EVA to 178 gr.
For those looking for greater comfort, there are versions with TiroX rail in light alloy steel, a material with an excellent balance between weight and resistance, which gives the saddle less rigidity and superior vibration absorption. The weight of the models with Tirox rails is 277 g for the Dimension EVA and 226 g for the Scratch EVA.
