The new KYLMA is the ideal gloves for professionals and most demanding cyclists who don't let cold and rain stop them even in winter. Designed together with the best teams to ride even in the harshest conditions without ever losing control of the bike, on the roads and off-road.
Cold and water protection, but with maximum grip and comfort
Our goal was to make winter gloves that can protect against wind and water, but are thinner than thick and padded traditional ones, to ensure a great fit and sensitivity on the handlebars.
The new KYLMA meets these characteristics perfectly, with the use of different materials to suit different needs.
The back of the glove, the part most exposed to cold air and water, is made of "Thermal Textile," a fabric composed of 3 different ultra-thin overlapping layers, already used with excellent results in cross-country skiing and biathlon.
-
the windproof and water-resistant outer layer, creates a first insulating and protective shield against cold air and water;
-
the thermal middle layer protects against the cold outside and retains internal heat, allowing to ride with even near-zero temperatures;
-
the last inner layer in contact with the hand, is fleece-lined to allow the skin to breathe and to absorb sweat, thus protecting against moisture and wetness.
The palm of the glove instead, is designed to ensure maximum riding feel even in the most difficult conditions. An elastic and ultralight PU leather, with the addition of rubber inserts in the center of the palm, allows for maximum grip on handlebars and levers even when wet.
The elasticized cuffs have a medium height, ideal for overlapping the jacket sleeves and covering the wrists well, but without being too bulky and restricting movement.
Finally, to fit the second glove while the other is already on, a comfortable tongue shaped feature, made of durable fabric, has been added for easy grip.
Tested on the road from Sonny Colbrelli
We tested the new KYLMA on Lake Garda during a cold winter day with Sonny Colbrelli. The winner of Paris-Roubaix and the Italian and European championships in 2021, who was one the first champions to have contributed over the years to the development of Prologo gloves.
After a coffee at Café Giardino near Salò, a regular stop for all the pros and cyclists training on the Lake, we pedaled together with Sonny on the San Michele climb from Gardone Riviera.
These are the words of Sonny Colbrelli, after the ride wearing the new gloves: "As soon as I wore the new KYLMA gloves, I immediately appreciated their comfort and palm grip. Despite the lightness of the materials, they manage to provide excellent protection from the cold even on descents in temperatures close to zero degrees”.
Developed and tested by the pros
Also the KYLMA, like all the Prologo’s gloves, have been perfected thanks to valuable feedback from world tour team athletes such as Matej Mohorič (Bahrain Victorious) and Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert) and off-road teams that use them successfully in races.
