A model designed to meet the needs of the Slovenian champion, who required a new light, stiff and aerodynamic saddle to gain the maximum competitive advantage in races against the clock.
The new saddle was mounted on Tadej's Colnago TT01 during the seventh Nuits-Saint-Georges - Gevrey-Chambertin time trial stage and in the Monaco - Nice final stage, which crowned him the winner of his third Tour de France with Prologo.
To improve the saddle's aerodynamics, the carbon fibre base was designed using CFD simulation software and perfected in wind tunnel tests. The side wings on either side of the base conceal and shield the rail and seatpost clamp from the air, while the rear spoiler channels flows from the rider's back parallel to the road.
The revolutionary carbon rail, perfectly integrated into the base, has a much larger flat surface than traditional round or oval rails. This patented solution guarantees maximum power transfer and improves the connection between the cyclist and the seatpost, enabling the cyclist to perceive even the smallest sensation transmitted by the frame.
An advantage in terms of the time trial bike's rideability, evident especially on the descents, as in Tadej's final triumphant one at over 90 km/h from the Col d'Eze in Nice.
The shape of the saddle is designed to facilitate maximum rotation of the athlete's pelvis, allowing him to assume and maintain an even more aerodynamic position for longer.
The tip features a flat surface and increased EVA padding for maximum support. The wide central PAS channel reduces pressure peaks on the soft tissues to improve comfort. At the rear, the padding has been reduced to just a few millimetres, allowing the weight to be further reduced to just 140g.
