A great way to finish the Season.

The 2022 road and MTB season was truly full of excitement and surprises for the Prologo teams. it was the year of Pogacar and his racking up of the Classics, of a hard-fought Tour de France, of Pauline Prevot wearing all the MTB world champion jerseys.

We then moved on to the EWS where Prologo was for the first year the global sponsor of the entire electric and muscular circuit, seeing Lapierre Overvolt and GT Factory Team achieve excellent results.

Il lombardia 2022

The Lombardia region of Italy is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. From the snow-capped Alps to the lakes, there is something for everyone to enjoy. And what better way to experience it all than by bicycle?

Il lombardia is one of the most important cycling races in the world. It is a one-day race that takes place in Italy and is considered to be one of the five "monument" races. The race was first held in 1905 and has been held annually since then. The race is typically held in October, which is the end of the European cycling season.

It consists of a route that goes through the Lombardy region of Italy. The start and finish of the race are generally in the city of Bergamo. This is this magnificent city was the starting point. It ypically covers around 250 kilometers (155 miles). There are usually between 10 and 20 kilometers (6-12 miles) of climbing, depending on the specific route each year.

In recent years, the winner of Il lombardia has often been decided by a breakaway group of riders rather than a sprint finish. This is due to the fact that the route often includes very difficult climbs that make it hard for sprinters to stay with the leading pack. Some of the most famous winners of Il lombardia include Eddy Merckx, Fausto Coppi, Marco Pantani, and Vincenzo Nibali.

The race was won by Slovenian phenomenon Tadej Pogacar, who we are now used to seeing racking up titles despite his very young age.

Aided by the UAE Team emirates battleship Pogacar once again showed his versatility, making the difference on the climbs but at the same time having power for the sprint

After the Giro dell'Emilia and the Three Valleys of Varese, Pogacar rounds off his Italian campaign and season in style. Should we add more symbols of his victory to his special, super-light saddle?

During a visit to our HQ Pogacar reflected on his career and his future goals. You can find his reflection clicking here

However, eyes were not only on the two-time Tour de France winner. A legend of world cycling has retired, leaving a void that is difficult to fill: The shark Vincenzo Nibali.

In 2013, Vincenzo Nibali became the first Italian winner of the race in 15 years, crossing the line solo after attacking on the final climb. He repeated the feat in 2015, winning a two-up sprint against Esteban Chaves. Nibali is a two-time Giro d'Italia champion and has also won the Vuelta a España.

Nibali's most recent victory at Il Lombardia came in 2017, when he outfoxed his rivals with a late attack to take the win. He now has three victories in the race, putting him level with Fausto Coppi and Giovanni Brunero for second on the all-time list behind only Alessandro Petacchi's four wins.

We will surely miss Vincenzo.

Gravel World Championship

On Saturday we all had two televisions on, one on the Lombardy and one on another event held in Italy: The World Gravel Championships.

The Gravel World Championship is an annual event that take place in various locations around the world. It is a one-day race that covers a distance of approximately 100 miles (160 km). The race is open to both amateur and professional cyclists.

The Gravel World Championship is a race like no other. Taking place inVeneto Region, the course is grueling and unforgiving. But that didn't stop Pauline Ferrand Prevot from taking home the title In this blog post, we'll take a look at how Ferrand Prevot became the first woman to win the Gravel World Championship and what it takes to compete in such a demanding race.

We are certainly not surprised to see Pauline in the rainbow jersey. She has collected quite a few in her career, going on to wear the road, MTB and cyclocross champion's jersey at the same time. An amazing achievement that only a few others have been able to replicate. For example MVDP.

In 2022, Pauline decided to abandon some World Cup stages to train for the World Cup, a risky decision but one that has certainly paid off.

Considering that 24 hours after winning the rainbow jersey the Frenchwoman won at Roc D'Azur, we understand how her talent has no end.

To celebrate her last XCO world championship victory, Prologo and BMC had designed a specially coloured frame and saddle for the 'Panther' together with the Italian artist NO Curves.

The saddles of champions.

Want to find out which models the champions use?

Both Nibali and Pogacar use the Scratch M5. Nibali with the exhaust, Pogacar closed and with a graphic dedicated to him.

Thanks to its new design, size and ergonomic 'T SHAPE' shape, the Scratch M5 is suitable for unisex use and in different disciplines. The dimensions are 250 x 140mm and the weights vary depending on the model configuration: the carbon Nack version weighs only 155g, while the Tirox (light alloy steel) version weighs 189g.

The new MSS- Multi Sector System seating system, designed in collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic, contributes to improved comfort and performance. The active and separated foams create 5 zones that work in an intelligent and individual way favouring the normal pedalling movement both during pushing and pulling. The round shape of the saddle allows the pelvis to rotate naturally, creating stability and support for the lumbar region; it also promotes the distribution of pressure over a larger surface area.

It is available with and without a drainage channel, as well as in a space version: wider (147 mm ) and padded.

Pauline, on the other hand, uses the Dimension NDR. Its ergonomic shape and reduced weight make this saddle very versatile and suitable for all disciplines,

The padding increased by 3 mm guarantees greater vibration absorption, while the rounded seat area supports the rider in the natural rotation of the pelvis; the shorter nose (35 mm less than traditional saddles) eliminates numbness and pressure peaks at the top;

The Dimension NDR's wider PAS drainage channel reduces compression of soft tissue, tendons and blood vessels, ensuring smooth blood flow. The addition of a Side Protector prevents unsightly scratches or damage from falls - small details that make all the difference.

Thanks to everyone who raced with Prologo in 2022, see you soon!
